Step 2 - Pulping the Berry's

Once the Cherry Berry's have been floated through the bottom of the vat the berries that sink are moved down and futher cleaned and washed up and sent to the pulpers.

On a trip to Jamaica where I got to meet with the Famous Mr Kebble Munn I was able to see how they pulped coffee berries in days of old by hand. The Cherry berries go in through the top and past through a number of strippers which remove the berry from the bean. Today more modern machinery is used to process the beans but in times when there is no power, they are not afraid to go back to the old fashioned method.
